Northallerton (22.7 miles) has a mainline railway station with direct services to London (2h 30m) and Edinburgh (2h 20m).<br /><br /><b>The House And Garden</b> - East House was built in the 1760's and is a generous, detached home of great character. It is currently run as a successful guest house, in the popular Yorkshire Dales National Park. The property benefits from oil central heating and part double glazing, and has many features including stone flags, window shutters, alcoves and niches.<br /><br />The accommodation is spacious, providing five double bedrooms, three are to the first floor and have en-suites, two are to the second floor with a shared shower room. To the ground floor there is an inviting entrance hall, which has been used as a dining room in the past. The well proportioned sitting room has an inglenook fireplace housing a stove. The large kitchen dining room is a real feature, with painted beams, granite worktops and an electric Aga, as well as plenty of storage and fitted units.<br /><br />To the front of the house is a paved seating area and a lawned garden with established flower beds, shrubs, and trees. Vehicular access is from the main street onto a shared tarmac drive where there is parking for several vehicles, a small patio, flowerbeds, bin store and a stone outbuilding, used as a laundry.<br /><br />Some of the interior photography was shot in 2016 for a feature in Period Living, otherwise they were taken in Autumn 2021.<br /><br />
